For more than 35 years the ties between Prato and Ebensee (Austria) and Prato and Wangen (Germany) have gotten more and more strong thanks to the respective treaties.
The three cities were awarded a European tender (CERV Programme) in which they participated with a shared project. Through this notice, 30,000.00 euros were given to invest throughout 2023 for the development of the activities forseen by the Project.
These activities will be characterized by three main themes:
- Culture of memory
- Participation of youth in the institutional life of their city
- Initiatives and social policies aimed at the younger generations
It is the first time that the three cities are aiming for joint planning by participating in a European tender. It is a model of collaboration which, we are certain, will make it possible to carry out initiatives on common themes and consequently strengthen relations between the three communities.
In 2023 the Prato-Wangen twinning will celebrate its 35th anniversary (a goal already achieved in 2022 for Prato-Ebensee program). The developed project will in fact also represent an opportunity to celebrate these important anniversaries.
The development of the project is focused on and towards the younger generations with the aim of involving them in the exchange program activities. Activities that have been scoring enormous success for years, thanks also to the great motivation and active contribution with our vision of "Together for the Future in Europe"
